Diversey Koji Okumura - Moved to E. The rice and fish seemed a little dry, like it had been kept out too long. Quickly becoming known for their selection of live sashimi - which diners can choose out of several fresh and saltwater aquariums. Noteworthy menu feature: kaiseki - an elaborate traditional Japanese eleven-course dinner.

Beautiful interior creates a warm ambiance. Extensive imported sake list. Menu changes daily. A true gourmet experience The staff are warm and friendly. The atmosphere is quaint and clean. Great for take-out or dine-in. It is a bit pricey, but definitely worth it!

After nightclubing one night we discovered this place. Start with a fresh oyster shooter! The sashimi was well done and catapillar maki was a delight. I have tried several other sushi places, but nothing else compares. It is located in the University Village Marketplace, and it is truly a hidden treasure. Restaurant Website. It's our neighborhood haunt, so we're a bit biased. Still, the sushi is always fresh, the cooked food delicious, and the prices are reasonable. We've brought a number of friends to Kotobuki and many are regulars now too.

The food is very good and moderately priced. The service is always excellent. The sushi is good, but not the best I ever ate. Lots of Japanese customers tells me it must be somewhat authentic. Best to go on week nights or before pm on weekends, as it can get very busy. If we could afford to eat it every day, we probably would. We are native Chicagoans and have tried more than ten sushi places in the area, including the new fancy Bucktown and River West haunts.

When we try new places, we compare them to Midori, and, so far, none has removed this Northwest side Korean-owned suhsi haven from the top of our list. Midori has the best fishwhich leads to the best sushi and sashimi in the city. Service is inconsistent, but servers are always friendly. Highly, highly recommended. Presentation and fish quality were outstanding, but portions could have been a little larger.

Above average maki menu with very creative rolls on the special menu. Very artsy neighborhood featuring artwork from local artists.

The food is delicious. There is a very wide variety which they do very tastefully. And when you want it HOT!!! And when you want it lite there is a wide selection of healthier lighter choices.

We would take the short bus ride up Clark if we had too much to carry, or we would just walk home. Join the Discover Nikkei global community, where our Nima connect and share!
