You miss being as physical, as invincible as you are at Things are vaguer. Instead of black and white, there are these gray areas. It makes things pretty confusing. Seger laughs. I spent a couple of months in Miami doing some recording, and I wrote the song after observing a lot of discrimination against the Cubans by a certain segment of the white population. I started researching the situation a little bit, and I found that most of the Cubans down there are really hard-working.

The perception is that they opened the jails, but the vast majority were people who wanted to get out of Cuba. The relationship was so dead and gone that it was just numb.
