We had to run errands and help to care for anyone who was sick, when I was young growing up there were no questions asked we did what we were told.

We honored and loved our neighbors. We helped those in need, whether they were sick, tired, or just wanted assistance.

Growing up in this environment prepared me to care for those in need and to love and show respect for as many people as I meet. I have served in many different roles while being employed with Sunrise Senior Living: I have served our seniors as a care manager, medication technician, lead care manager, Reminiscence Supervisor, Reminiscence Coordinator and currently Assisted Living Coordinator.

My goal is to continue to grow with Sunrise and continue to serve and have a positive impact on the lives of others. I love to spend family time with my active 11 year old son and my many nieces and nephews, they keep me laughing and on the go. My sister is my best friend, we spend time together daily and always reminisce about our childhood and the wonderful women that shaped our lives, our grandmother and mother.

What excites me most about working with residents is the opportunity to help produce positive outcomes, contentment, and to hopefully change lives from those experience. There is nothing more rewarding than serving at a community like Sunrise, where the principles of service, love and compassion are demonstrated every day.

Now, it is my lifelong passion. My favorite part of each day is talking with our residents and getting their opinions and insights on our food and service. Our team here is the best and their passion is evident by our quality of service. My mother and father instilled respect for others in us, and made sure that we worked for what we wanted in life. As a child growing up in New York City my mother would instruct my brothers and I to shovel driveways in the winter to help our elderly neighbors, we would also run errands for those who were not able to get out of their homes.

While there are a few similar businesses out there, we definitely stand apart in more than a few ways. We are the only company whose kits include a book, snacks, crafts, and a video lesson. Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor? You know it is so cliche but I would say relationships are everything. If you have a small business, go meet other small business owners and support them!
